Akamai GPA (Guardicore Platform Agent) client on all platforms before 7.4 improperly validates JWT tokens used for seeding. By convincing a user to interact with a malicious link, an attacker can use a spoofed JWT token to inject arbitrary parameters into the client software, resulting in unauthorized reconfiguration and full compromise of the application's functionality. This attack can also be targeted against an already seeded client if the attacker knows the URL of the IDP that the client used for enrollment.

This CVE exploits attack patterns that Casky's 0matched skills already investigate — long before this vulnerability was disclosed. Claude's reasoning model maps these techniques to MITRE ATT&CK, so practitioners who ran these skills have already seen the threat behaviour in their findings.
CVE-2026-50218 exploits improper JWT token validation in Akamai GPA (Guardicore Platform Agent) versions before 7.4, affecting all platforms. By crafting a malicious link containing a spoofed JWT token, attackers can trick users into triggering arbitrary parameter injection into the client software. This leads to unauthorized reconfiguration and complete compromise of the application's functionality. Organizations deploying Akamai's endpoint protection are directly at risk, particularly where users have direct internet access and may be targeted via phishing or social engineering campaigns.
While this CVE lacks explicit MITRE ATT&CK mappings, Casky's security skills would detect attack patterns associated with credential abuse and initial access vectors. Practitioners using Casky would identify suspicious JWT generation or validation failures, anomalous client configuration changes post-user interaction, and unauthorized parameter injection attempts. Extended reasoning across the 754 mapped skills would correlate indicators of compromise such as unexpected IDP communications, malformed authentication tokens, and out-of-baseline application behavior—all hallmarks of CWE-99 (Improper Control of Dynamically-Managed Code Resources) exploitation. Detection would surface reconnaissance of target IDPs and anomalous client reconfiguration as early warning signs requiring immediate patching and endpoint isolation.
